Summer Tomatoes PT 1 - 27th March

As a homecook, the holy grail of the veggie patch must be the humble tomato! Sweet, beautiful and so versatile, it truly deserves its own place in the spotlight at this time of year!

Join me on my 100 acre property in Kangaloon, just 15 minutes from Bowral in the Southern Highlands, to cook up a storm!

27th March –
Family recipes featuring the glorious tomato!

We'll kick the day off with a morning tea and a quick tour of the gardens, veggie patch and orchard, harvesting the final bits and pieces to get into a "paddock to plate' mood!

Then we'll get into the kitchen to cook up family meals featuring the tomato. We'll make beautiful yemista (rice stuffed vegetables), a tomato topped cheese pie, braised beef ribs, roast tomato and basil soup and even make some ricotta for our bruschetta, which we will enjoy as part of our lunch.

You will leave the farm with a tray of yemista, a pot of ricotta, little cheese pies to reheat and top at home with the tomatoes you will harvest from the patch, a beautiful bunch of herbs and a little something from me as a thank you for attending!

9.30am – 3.30pm

($280 per person, completely hands on class limited to 8 participants)
